PRIDE Mediation

The State of Texas does not recognize couples of a same sex "marriage" as having the same benefits of traditional marriage however, the Newsome Wellborn Group (NWG) can help to ease the burden of the dissolution of relationships of same sex couples, which too have issues not unlike those of traditionally married couples. We can help you resolve issues such as housing, joint bank accounts, custody of children/animals, items of possession, and outstanding debt.

Couples Mediation

NWG is on the leading edge of Couples Mediation. This is not a therapy session but an issues-based mediation where both parties agree to handle their issues with action.

This mediation requires: One (1) individual assessment with Family Mediator to discuss relationship issues by both parties, one(1) questionnaire to be completed prior to individual meeting, and one (1) four hour couples meeting.

This mediation only deals with issues of communication and is not intended for psychological treatment or therapy. Although we are trained and skilled mediators we are not, however, psychologist or therapist and must decline to participate in any mediation where these issues are present.

Civil Union Pre-Commitment Agreement

Using the same principle as a prenuptial agreement, the Newsome Wellborn Group can work with both parties to produce a legally binding agreement that is recognized by the State of Texas as a legal instrument by which a couple settles, in advance, property and financial issues at the onset of their partnership whether they are a same sex couple or a traditional couple that choose not to be legally married.
