Anger Management
Campus Harmony, Inc. shows students that any anger involved in a conflict must be resolved as the first order of business. Students learn to overcome conflict by implementing positive practices introduced by Campus Harmony, Inc. and converting negative responses to creative and powerful sources of energy that will improve life and relationships.
Leaders of organizations must be aware of the signs
of anger:
· Lack of productivity and unclear organization
· Constant coming and going of members
· Lack of motivation
· Power struggles between members
· Low morale
· Lack of innovation and new ideas
Leaders must deal with the anger caused not only by the conflict,
but also by the process of the resolution:
· Questions perceived as too personal or disrespectful
· Perceived criticism
· Frustration from communication difficulties
· Defensiveness
Campus Harmony presents a training sessions addressing all these subjects. Students will explore specific strategies for anger management, both their own and that of the parties in dispute. Students practice relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing and visualization, the appropriate use of humor and cognitive restructuring. Students are sensitized to language, and actions that impede conclusion of anger and other conflict-enhancing emotions.
The program helps students to use logic and balance to soothe anger and to recognize the difference between anger that is resolved and anger that is merely hidden.
